Lunera Launches ‘Drive Forward’ Campaign to Share Its Commitment to Sustainable Mobility

Writer: Rafi Mouhssen  |  Marketing and Brand Lead, Lunera  |  2 min read

Rotterdam, Netherlands — June 16, 2025

Lunera, the Rotterdam-based electric vehicle company, has announced the launch of a new brand communication campaign called “Drive Forward.” The campaign is designed to inform current and future customers about the company’s values, innovations, and sustainable choices made throughout its operation.

The campaign follows a series of internal milestones. Over the course of the simulation, Lunera voluntarily invested $65 million in air filtration systems to protect communities near production sites, introduced the LuneraShield safety system, launched a study into ethical vehicle quality, and expanded its model range to include MPV, Sedan, and Crossover variants. “Drive Forward” brings these stories to a wider audience.

“Our customers deserve to know who we are and what we stand for,” said Rafi Mouhssen, Marketing and Brand Lead at Lunera. “We have made decisions that go beyond the legal minimum. This campaign is about making those decisions visible.”

The campaign will run across online, social media, and print channels. It will feature storytelling content that connects Lunera’s decisions to real-world impact on communities, the environment, and driver safety. The campaign directly addresses what simulation research confirmed: customers place high value on safety ratings and environmental performance when selecting a vehicle brand.

Lunera’s stock price grew from $15.31 at the start of operations to a peak of $47.56 in Year 6, reflecting growing investor and customer confidence. The company believes that consistent brand communication has been a key driver of that growth.

The campaign will officially launch across all 190 Lunera dealerships in the Netherlands this quarter, with digital content going live simultaneously across all platforms.

Lunera Launches Innovative Safety System to Boost Vehicle Safety Ratings and Make Driving Even Safer with New Technology

Writer: Bink van den Broek  |  Strategy & Finance, Lunera  |  2 min read

Rotterdam, June 3, 2025

Automotive innovator Lunera announces the launch of its new safety system called LuneraShield. This system will be included in all new Lunera cars starting next quarter. Lunera made this decision to introduce this new system because of clear customer feedback during the last simulation. Many customers in the Interprice group said that safety is one of the most important ratings to look at when buying a new car. So, Lunera listened and took action.

LuneraShield is a smart system that helps drivers to stay safe on the road. It uses new technology to watch what is happening around and inside the car. In the system there are special sensors that look for cars, people, and other obstacles on the road. When it detects any danger, it can warn the driver or even stop the car completely. This with the goal of preventing accidents.

An important part of LuneraShield is that it watches the driver’s face and eyes while driving. It checks to see if the driver is tired or not paying attention to the road. When the driver seems tired or distracted, the system will send a warning with use of a sound or message. This will help the driver stay alert.

The second feature is called Safe-Mode. If the driver suddenly gets sick or cannot control the vehicle anymore, LuneraShield will take over for a short period. It will help the car slow down and keep it safe until the car can come to a stop. It could also call for help through the SOS function. In medical emergencies this could be very helpful.

LuneraShield is also designed for the future. It can update itself with the use of internet. This means that the system can improve in the future, without having to go to a car shop. In this way customers will always have the most up-to-date safety system in the car.

Some experts in the car industry are already saying good things about safety system LuneraShield. They believe that it will help Lunera stand out from other car brands. It could also improve the safety rating of the company; this could lead to even more customer trust and better sales in the future.

Lunera Takes Action to Improve Air Quality and Protect the Environment

Writer: Finn Holleman  |  Team Lead & Operations, Lunera  |  2 min read

Rotterdam, Netherlands — June 15, 2025

Lunera, a car company that supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has announced it will invest $65 million to install new filtration systems. These systems will reduce harmful particles in the air at several of its production and office locations.

This decision follows an independent environmental audit, which found that Lunera fully follows all environmental laws. However, the report also found higher-than-recommended levels of particulate matter, methane, and nitrous oxide in the air around some company sites. These levels are still legal, but higher than the limits suggested by health organisations and scientists.

“We want to go beyond what the law requires,” said Asha Vermeer, Head of Sustainability at Lunera. “Even though we don’t have to take action, we believe it is the right thing to do for our employees, our communities, and the planet.”

Particulate matter can cause breathing problems and long-term health issues. Lunera will install new filtration systems that will lower these particles to almost zero. The installation will be completed in the next six months.

Greenhouse gases, like methane and nitrous oxide, remain a focus area. Lunera is not installing a recapturing system for these gases right now; however, the company is committed to investing in this area in the future.

Although this change will not affect the company’s sales or performance directly, Lunera is proud to be helping in the fight against climate change. By taking responsibility today, Lunera is helping to build a cleaner, healthier tomorrow, one step at a time — and hopes to inspire the rest of the automotive industry to do the same.

Start of a New Study to Improve the Quality of Our Ethical and Liquid Cars

Writer: Damyan Kort  |  Communications Director, Lunera  |  2 min read

Rotterdam, June 15, 2025

At Lunera, we are excited to share some important news. We have started a new study to improve the quality of our ethical and liquid cars. This is a big step for us. We want to build better cars for people and for the world.

We know that many people today want cars that are clean, safe, and made in a fair way. These are called ethical cars. They help the environment, use less fuel, and are made with care. We agree that this is very important. That is why we are working hard to improve our cars even more.

In this study, we want to learn how to make our cars stronger, smarter, and more efficient. We are looking at every part of the car, from the materials we use to how the car drives. We are also thinking about how we build the cars and where the parts come from.

We are working with teams across Lunera to do this study. Our engineers, designers, and sustainability experts are all helping. Everyone brings ideas to the table. We believe that working together helps us find the best solutions.

We are also listening to our customers. Your opinions help us learn what works and what needs to be better. We want to build cars that you can trust and feel proud to drive.

This study will look at many areas. First, we will check the materials in our cars. Are they strong? Are they safe? Are they good for the planet? We will also look at how much energy the cars use. We want our cars to be powerful, but also clean. The study will also focus on our supply chain. We want to be sure that everyone involved in making our cars is treated fairly and works in good conditions.

We are still in the early stages of our study. That means we are collecting information, looking at data, and asking questions. We are not making changes to the cars yet. But the results of the study will help us plan for the future. We want our next steps to be smart and thoughtful.

This is just the beginning. We believe that with this study, we are moving in the right direction. Our goal is to lead ethical and liquid car design. We want to offer cars that are high in quality and made with care.

We will keep sharing news and progress. Please check our website for updates. We are excited to take this journey with you.
